Where is Nainital?
NainitalNainital is located in the foothills of the Himalayan ranges in the state of Uttaranchal in North India. It is situated in the Kumaon region at an elevation of 6,350 ft.

How will you gain access?
Pantnagar (71 km) is the closest airport from Nainital. The Vayudoot services connect the place to Delhi. The nearest railhead lies at Kathgodam (35 km) which is connected by train to Delhi and Howrah. Nainital is connected by rail to places like Delhi, Agra, Bareilly and Lucknow. By road, Nainital is linked with Delhi (322 km), Bareilly (141 km), Almora (66 km) and Ranikhet (60 km).

» Naini Lake
The Naini Lake is the centre of attraction in Nainital. The northern part of the lake is known as Mallital while the southern part is called Tallital. The two points are connected by a bridge. There are a number of shopping malls here.

» Naina Peak
Providing a panoramic view of Nainital, the Naina Peak is a popular picnic spot in the Kumaon region. The snow laden Himalayan peaks look mesmerising from this point. The scenic surroundings and the captivating environs leave no one untouched.

» Dorothy Seat
Naini LakeThe Dorothy Seat, also known as 'Tiffin Top', is built in remembrance of Mrs. Dorothy Kellet. The place provides with magnificent views of the Himalayas.

» St. John-In-The Wilderness
The church is one of the oldest buildings erected in Nainital. The church stands close to the Uttaranchal High Court. The exquisite interior and the stained-glass windows attract everyone's attention.

» Bhimtal
Located at a distance of 22 km, Bhimtal is yet another attraction for the tourists and visitors. What is most interesting about the lake is that an island restaurant is located in the middle of it.


» Nakuchiatal
