Where is Jammu?
The city of Jammu is located in the southwestern part of Jammu and Kasmir
state, bordering Kashmir valley to the north, Ladakh to the east, Himachal
Pradesh to the south and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir to the west.

» Peer Khoh
Peer Khoh, 3.5 km from Jammu, is a popular cave shrine. It is renowned for
the Shivalingam that is enshrined here. Myth goes that there are underground

» Ranbireshwar Temple
The Ranbireshwar Temple was erected by Maharaj Rajbir Singh in 1883. The
temple stands in dedication to Lord Shiva. It houses 12 crystal Shivaligams
that surround a 7.5 feet high central Lingam.
» Raghunath Temple
Dedicated to Lord Rama, the Raghunath Temple is located in the city centre.
Maharaja Gulab Singh, founder of the kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir, began
intricate work on the temple in 1835. It was his son Mharaja Ranbir Singh
who accomplished the task in 1860.
» Bahu Fort
Bahu Fort is considered to be the oldest structure in Jammu. This 3000-year
old fort stands on the left bank of River Tawi.
» Peer Baba
It is the tomb of the Muslim saint Peer Buddhan Ali Shah. Every Thirsday a
large number of devotees, from all communities, arrive here to pay homage
and to seek blessings from the saint.

Trekking and skiing are other key attractions of the place. These sports
activities form a part and parcel of the tourism industry of the Jammu
region. The great slopes of the area attract skiers from all around. Kud and
Sanasar are fine skiing destinations.
