Where is Colva?
The Colva beach (40 km form Panaji) is located in the state of Goa in
India. Spreading out to 20 km, the beach is just 2 km away from the
Beanaulim beach.
How will you gain access?
The closest airport is at Dabolim which is 68 km away from Colva. Karmali,
11 km from Panaji, is the nearest railway station. There are regular bus
services available from Colva to the other key destinations of the state of
Goa. Taxis can also be hired.

» Our Lady of Mercy Church
The church is the major attraction at Colva. On the third Monday of every
October is held an annual festival in honour of the Baby Jesus. Mainly the
Catholic population of the village holds the feast that begins at 8:00 am
and lasts for around 13 to 14 hours. Locals queue up to kiss the image of
the Baby Jesus. The history of the festivals dates back to the 16th century.
» Souvenir Stalls and Food Stands
There are a number souvenir stalls all over the beach. One can choose from
the interesting collection of the souvenirs. The food stands offer fresh sea
food and special Portuguese cuisine. No wonder, Colva has earned a
reputation as one of the most romantic beaches of Goa.
» Bull Fights
Bull fights can be enjoyed from October until the month of May. These bull
fights are organised at nearby Benaulim, with the clash beginning from about
4 pm onwards. What is most interesting about the fight is that there are no
fences around. Besides the Konkani music adds utmost charm to the event.
» Colva's Nightlife
Nightlife at Colva is very lively. The hottest hang-out zones lie to the
south of the beach front area. Splash boasts of a big MTV screen and
paralleled music. The place bursts up with entertainment at around 10 p.m,
and the whole area comes alive at the very instant. Honey-mooners,
merrymakers and vacationers can be observed all over the place.

The Colva beach offers a number of beach sports for the adventure lovers
and visitors. Dolphin watching, fishing and walking along the beach are some
of the indulging options here. Scuba diving is another option for those who
wish to explore and enjoy the underwater world. Snorkelling is the other
popular water sports of the place.

A new hotel seems to be popping up each week. One can find both resorts and
low-budget hotels around Colva. For longer stays, there are houses to be
rented. Colmar Beach Resort (20 km from airport) and Vista De Colva (20 km
from airport) are popular 2-stars hotels in Colva. William's Beach Resort
(20 km from airport) is another 2-star offering money exchange, doctor on
call, travel assistance, safe deposit, balcony, multi-cuisine restaurant,
bar, room service, laundry, swimming pool etc.
What is the best time?
Novenmber to February is the ideal time to visit the Colva. During summer
the maximum temperature records 32 degrees while the minimum temperature
during winter is 21 degrees centigrade.
