Where is Benaulim?
The Benaulim beach is located in the state of Goa in India. It lies on the
shores of the Arabian Sea and is 41 km away form Pananji, the capital of
Goa. The Colva beach is at a distance of 2 km from here.
How will you gain access?
Dabolim (70 km) is the closest airport from Benaulim. Karmali (52 km) is
the nearest railway station. There are regular bus services from Colva which
is 2 km away from Benaulim. The buses run to and from Margao which is a 8-km
distance from Benaulim. From Margao, one can also take a bus to Panaji.

» St. John Church
The Church of St John the Baptist is located atop a hill beyond the
village. The arrival of monsoon announces the Feast of St. John the Baptist.
The young men of the village jump into the wells to commemorate the movement
of St. John when he was in his mother's womb and visited by Mary, the mother
of Jesus.
» Varca Beach
The Varca Beach is about 2 km south of Benaulim beach. Here, The row of the
beached wooden fishing boats are worth watching. There are a number of palm
thatched long houses lining the foot of the grassy dunes.
» Benaulim Village
The village of Benaulim is no less attraction for the visitors. There are
numerous mythologies attached to the place. It is said that the arrow of
Lord Parsurama landed here when he created the state of Goa. The village is
also famous for its rosewood furniture and carvings.
» Dolphin Cruises
The
Dolphin Cruises attract hordes of tourists and visitors from all around.
Reasonably priced, these cruises are one's chance of spotting dolphins as
they prance about.

Benaulim is popular all around for its excellent fishing options. However,
there are a number of water sports available to keep your adrenaline
pumping. There are sports like surfing, para-sailing, wind surfing, water
skiing etc. A number of Governement and private organisations including
hotels and tour operators conduct regular water sports activities. Training
courses can also be taken.

What is the best time?
Goa has a consistent climate throughout the year with little fluctuations
in the temperature. Though it's a round-the-year destination, the ideal time
to visit is between the months of November and March.
